Why we opened this campaign
Every day and every night, around the clock, without weekends or holidays — even on Yom Kippur — the defenders of Jerusalem and the communities of Judea and Samaria stand at their posts, inspect cars, search for terrorists, and do everything in their power to ensure that the tragedy of October 7 never happens again.
At the Yad Itzhak Foundation, we want to express our gratitude to these guys who, in the scorching heat of summer hamsin days and in the freezing nights of winter rains, shield us from the horrors of war and terror, risking their lives so that we can sleep safely.
On the night of December 15, on the second candle of Hanukkah, representatives of the foundation and Israeli bloggers will go to personally congratulate our soldiers — with sufganiyot, energy drinks, and Hanukkah menorahs.
We want to show them that we value their service and that we remember them not only when something happens in the country — and also to lift their spirits during this dark time, when night falls as early as four in the afternoon.
To carry out this “tour of the checkpoints,” we need to raise 8,000 shekels — these funds will go toward purchasing sufganiyot and other treats, hot pizza, and drinks for our soldiers. Ten checkpoints in Gush Etzion are already happily waiting for us.
Let’s light up this Hanukkah and dispel the post-war darkness together!
