The idea

One-off help ends. The crisis does not.

A month after the envelope the family is back where it started: a document nobody explained, a benefit never claimed, a diploma that is not valid here. Smart Chesed deals with the cause, not the symptom.

Every family gets a case manager, a plan and deadlines. The programme ends when the help is no longer needed — that is its goal.

How it works

    Application

    The family writes to the foundation, or a rabbi, a doctor or neighbours bring them in.

  2. 02

    Verification

    Documents, bills, certificates. The committee reviews every case separately.

  3. 03

    The plan

    A case manager, deadlines and a clear goal: what changes in three, six and twelve months.

  4. 04

    Independence

    The family manages on its own. We stay in touch, but the money is no longer needed.

A child went undiagnosed for eighteen months — because of Hebrew

The elder daughter is in cancer remission. The younger child shows clear signs of ADHD, but there is no diagnosis. Only the husband works: the wife spends her days going from doctor to doctor, and with weak Hebrew nothing moves.
