Why we opened this campaign
My name is Noa. I live in Kiryat Ata with my husband and our four young sons.
Until recently, we were living an ordinary family life, raising our children and making plans for the future. But a month ago, our lives were divided into “before” and “after.”
My husband was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. The tumor is 8 centimeters in size, and the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes between his lungs.
Because of the size of the tumor, doctors cannot operate yet. My husband must first undergo extensive treatment to shrink the tumor and make surgery possible. According to the doctors, this process could take up to six months.
Six months. For some people, that may not seem like a long time. But for our family, it means six months of fighting for our father's life, six months of fear, uncertainty, and severe financial hardship.
Until the end of October, my husband continued working despite his illness. He pushed himself to the limit because he knew that his wife and four young children were waiting for him at home. But his condition has now worsened. Constant weakness, extreme fatigue, and chest pain have made it impossible for him to continue working.
Our family has effectively lost its main breadwinner at the very moment when we need stability and support the most.
But there is another painful struggle we face every single day.
Our youngest son is only one year and two months old. He suffers from serious health conditions and has been fighting since birth to do things that come naturally to other babies.
He has been diagnosed with kidney reflux, an absent membrane between the two hemispheres of his brain, and developmental delays. Doctors also suspect a genetic disorder.
While other babies grow, learn new movements, and discover the world around them, our little boy must undergo medical examinations and requires special care. We still do not know what the future holds for him or how serious the consequences of his conditions may be.
We are waiting for an appointment with a genetic specialist, but the waiting list stretches several months ahead. We are also waiting for a place in a specialized daycare center for children with disabilities, where our baby can receive the care and support he needs.
It is unbearable for me to think that, in an instant, our children could lose not only their financial stability but also their beloved father. And our youngest son, who has already endured so much, needs the love and care of both parents more than ever.
We are asking for help to provide our family with financial support for the next six months — to cover housing, food, and essential expenses for our children, and to allow my husband to focus on his treatment without worrying every day about how we will feed our sons tomorrow.
Please help us get through these six months.
Every donation, no matter how small, will mean the world to our family. And if you are unable to contribute financially, please share our story.
With gratitude and hope,
Noa and her family.
