Why we opened this campaign
On October 7, 2023, while on the border with the Gaza Strip Hamas terrorists were carrying out mass killings and abducting women, children, and elderly people, a volunteer unit called “Maginei Yerushalayim” (“Shield of Jerusalem”) was formed in Jerusalem.
The unit brought together former fighters from the Israeli infantry and special forces units who understood the reality of a possible threat to the Jewish neighborhoods of the capital from extremist elements in East Jerusalem. The absence of physical barriers between the city’s neighborhoods and the events of that day required immediate action to protect residents.
Within a very short time, dozens of experienced fighters and commanders living in the central neighborhoods of Jerusalem, located in close proximity to the Arab part of the city, joined the unit. Thanks to high motivation, combat experience, and the support of local residents, an effective rapid-response and self-defense system was created.
Today, the unit has undergone reorganization under the auspices of the Israel Police and has been transformed into the Jerusalem District Rapid Response Unit. In the near future, its number of members is expected to almost double.
Most of the weapons and basic equipment are provided by Israel’s Ministry of National Security and the police. However, as in the army and in many volunteer rescue and security units, there is a constant need for additional gear, special equipment, medical supplies, communication devices, and other essential equipment.
To support the activities of “Maginei Yerushalayim,” a collection of T-shirts and hoodies featuring the unit’s symbols is being released. By purchasing items from this collection, you help strengthen the unit’s capabilities and support the volunteers who stand guard every day over the safety of Jerusalem’s residents.
For a donation of ₪300 or more, you will receive a branded unit T-shirt as a gift.
For a donation of ₪600 or more, you will receive a branded unit hoodie as a gift.

Together, we are doing one shared mission — protecting Jerusalem. Am Yisrael Chai!
