Why we opened this campaign
In relation to the holiday of Shavuot, the Torah says: "And you shall rejoice before the Lord your God—you, your son, your daughter, your male and female servants, the Levite in your towns, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow in your midst..." (Deuteronomy 16:11).
Indeed, charity, and care for the poor, needy, and destitute are central themes in Jewish life. This is also one of the central themes in the Book of Ruth, which we traditionally read on Shavuot.
The Yad Yitzchok Foundation cares for people in need. But on the holiday of Shavuot, we always do something special, inspired by the example of the heroes in the Book of Ruth. During these days, we want to provide the needy with everything necessary for the festive table, showing true compassion and mercy.
Each of us faces difficulties in our lives. However, we can help those who find themselves in even more difficult, sometimes desperate situations, giving them a sense of warmth and care, and bringing smiles and hope for a better future.
That is why we call on everyone to participate in this good deed together with us!
Even a small contribution can bring joy to these people. Let's come together and show care and love for our neighbors just as the heroes of the Book of Ruth did.
Thank you for your support!
