Why we opened this campaign
A wedding is always a great joy in a family – but it also entails significant expenses. The R. family are new immigrants who arrived in Israel nearly three years ago from Ukraine, fleeing the war, with hardly anything but the clothes on their backs. In Kyiv, Rivka’s husband studied in the Podol yeshiva. The family has three children, ages 12, 14, and 18.
Almost immediately after making aliyah, Rivka and her husband began working at minimal-wage jobs to support their family and cover basic expenses. However, despite their best efforts, their income is not enough to organize a wedding for their eldest daughter.
The wedding is fast approaching, but the family cannot afford such an important item for a religious bride as a wig. That’s why they turned to us for help. Even a small donation can help the R. family purchase a wig for their eldest daughter’s chuppah. May the Almighty bless everyone who chooses to perform the mitzvah of helping a bride with her dowry.
