Why we opened this campaign
This Friday at 12:00, Goldenberg Speaks and Ezra Mor will host a pre-Shabbat livestream where, with humor and a bit of irony, they will go through the latest batch of antisemitic content from the internet. As we all know, the internet is an inexhaustible source, so there will be plenty of material.
But the stream will also have a practical purpose. While some people spend their time writing whatever comes to mind in comment sections, others in Israel are currently dealing with the consequences of the fighting in the war against Iran. Destroyed homes, evacuations, lost jobs, families whose lives turned into a rather complicated quest overnight.
That’s why during the stream it will be possible to donate to those affected. You can sit, listen, laugh at yet another geopolitical genius from Twitter, and at the same time help people who are genuinely going through a difficult time.
The Yad Yitzchak Foundation is helping the bloggers run this fundraiser legally and transparently. The money goes through an official amuta, with receipts and reporting, so everything is done properly.
Moreover, donations are issued with a receipt under Section 46, which means Israeli taxpayers can claim part of the donation as an income tax deduction. In a sense, the state will also take part in your tzedakah.
