Why we opened this campaign
You already know Mikhail—a man who once helped others and then found himself in need. After two strokes, a heart attack, and a diagnosis of lifelong disability, he refused to give up. He kept living, kept trying to be useful, kept fighting.
A year ago we helped him together: we raised money for a power scooter so he could at least leave his apartment—so he wouldn’t be a prisoner of four walls and his own body. For someone who can barely walk, that scooter was a beam of light in the darkness.
Now that light has gone out.
His scooter was stolen—just taken. And the man who can hardly walk is once again trapped, alone with pain and silence.
How can he reach a doctor now? How can he buy his medicine? How can he live?
Mikhail doesn’t complain. He feels embarrassed. He apologizes for asking again. He doesn’t craft pretty words; he simply says:
“I can’t manage anymore. Without your help I have nothing to live on, nothing for treatment, nothing for food and clothes. I’m completely alone.”
The stolen scooter is only the tip of the iceberg.
Behind it are unpaid bills—for groceries, arnona, medications, adult diapers, and other supplies.
We cannot stand aside and leave a person without food, movement, or hope.
- A new power scooter costs ₪8,000.
- Outstanding grocery debts amount to ₪6,000.
Every shekel is more than help—it’s a message: “Mikhail, you matter to us.”
