Why we opened this campaign
Zhanna, a nurse from Lviv, has been living in Israel for 23 years. But over the years, her dream of a full life has turned into a nightmare of loneliness and constant need.
Throughout her years in Israel, Zhanna has endured the loss of all her close family members: first, her son died in a car accident. Unable to cope with the loss, Zhanna's husband turned to alcohol and became aggressive, leading to physical violence not only against Zhanna but also her mother. This led to a divorce, and her husband returned to Ukraine.
Fearing complete solitude in an unfamiliar country, Zhanna decided on artificial insemination. However, her daughter was born prematurely, weighing only 1.4 kilograms, and spent the first two months of her life in the hospital.
The situation worsened with Zhanna's mother's illness. Acute kidney failure made the elderly woman dependent on regular dialysis. To save her mother, Zhanna took a loan of 60,000 shekels and paid for a kidney transplant in Germany. The money was spent, the surgery was successful, and the saved mother and daughter, having overcome adversity, returned to Israel. It seemed that from now on, everything would improve, but it didn't go as planned. The new kidney was rejected by her mother's body, and she passed away. After saying goodbye, Zhanna took her child from the hospital and began to survive in the nightmarish circumstances that had unfolded around her.
Since then, Zhanna has been raising her daughter alone, who likely requires a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. However, without an official diagnosis, they cannot receive necessary state benefits and support. A private consultation with a specialist could significantly speed up the process, but the cost of such a diagnosis is prohibitively high for Zhanna, as is the wait of more than a year to receive a free consultation.

Zhanna is a nurse. All her life, she has worked, taken responsibility, and asked for nothing from anyone. Only now has she reached out to volunteers who help her with sustenance. She has also written to the Yad Yitzchak Charity Foundation in hopes that together we can raise funds to change her life for the better.
The goal of this fundraiser is to relocate Zhanna and her daughter to more affordable housing and pay for medical diagnostics. We also aim to help Zhanna cope with the debts she accumulated trying to save her mother.
Every contribution is significant; every donation brings Zhanna and her daughter closer to the stable and safe life they strive for.
Join us in our mission to support single mothers and their children facing unimaginable hardships. Together, we can provide Zhanna with the support she needs in her difficult situation. Help her change her living situation, conduct diagnostics for her daughter, and return to a full life!
