Why we opened this campaign
My name is Esther. In April 2023, my life was divided into “before” and “after.”
Because of severe pneumonia and the incompatibility of antibiotics with the medication I was taking for diabetes, I fell into a coma. For five days, I was in intensive care, between life and death.
This time was the hardest for my eldest daughter, Rosa. She was only 15 years old. Every day she came to the hospital and spent hours sitting outside the intensive care unit. The doctors allowed her to come in and see me. She talked to me, held my hand, took care of me, and believed that her mother would come back. Her love, the care of the doctors, and the prayers of many people helped me survive.
After I came out of the coma, a long road to recovery began. For almost a year and a half, I had to learn how to live again, restoring my strength and health.
Today, the electricity debt is about 19,000 shekels, and the Israel Electric Corporation has already filed a lawsuit against us.
It is very hard for me to ask for help again. All my life, I have tried to manage on my own. And now it is especially difficult for me to ask people who have already once extended a helping hand to me.
I continue to fight for the ability to live independently, and any support, even the smallest, will help preserve our home, pay off the debt, and begin life without the constant fear of legal proceedings.
