Why we opened this campaign
A Mother Raising Three Children Alone. Help Daniel Celebrate His Bar Mitzvah
Daniel is about to turn 13. His mother, Anastasia, is raising three children on her own, including a three-month-old baby and a nine-year-old daughter with special needs. Right now, the family cannot afford to organize even a modest Bar Mitzvah celebration.
Anastasia is a new immigrant to Israel and a mother of three. She is currently raising and supporting her children entirely on her own.
Her eldest son, Daniel, will soon turn 13. His Bar Mitzvah is approaching — a special milestone when a Jewish boy becomes responsible for observing the commandments and takes his place as a full member of the Jewish community.
This day means so much to Daniel and his mother. But the family is now in a situation where even a modest Bar Mitzvah celebration is beyond their financial means.
In addition to Daniel, Anastasia is raising a nine-year-old daughter who was recently diagnosed with autism. She now needs additional attention, care, and support.
Just three months ago, Anastasia gave birth to her third child — another son.
Today, she is caring for three children: a teenager preparing for his Bar Mitzvah, a nine-year-old daughter with special needs, and a three-month-old baby. She has no spouse by her side to share the daily responsibilities of raising the children or the financial burden.
Most of the family's energy and limited resources go toward essential living expenses and meeting the children's everyday needs. Anastasia simply has no money left to prepare for or organize Daniel's Bar Mitzvah.
But financial hardship should not deprive a boy of one of the most meaningful days of his childhood.
The Yad Yitzchak Foundation is launching this fundraising campaign to help Daniel prepare for his Bar Mitzvah and organize a modest but meaningful celebration — one he can share with loved ones and remember for years to come.
This is not about an extravagant celebration. We want to support a mother who is carrying the responsibility of raising three children alone and help her give her eldest son something she would have done everything possible to provide under different circumstances.
We want Daniel to spend his Bar Mitzvah thinking not about his family's financial struggles, but feeling that this is his special day — a day of growing up, joy, and belonging to the Jewish people.
All funds raised will go directly toward expenses related to preparing for and celebrating Daniel's Bar Mitzvah.
Even a small donation will help make this special day possible.
If you are unable to contribute financially right now, please share this campaign. Your share may be what helps Daniel's story reach someone who can support his family.
Together, let's give Daniel a Bar Mitzvah he will remember for the rest of his life.
