Why we opened this campaign
Years ago she was living a harmonious life, not knowing that soon her life would turn into a struggle for her children's survival and well-being!
... " Everything happened when I divorced my husband and was left alone to bring up three children. The eldest daughter is soon to be 16, my son is 11, and my youngest daughter is 8.
Then, like a snowball, more and more difficulties came upon me.
My job as a manicurist, which I used to love and which supported us, turned into a nightmare when I started to develop allergic reactions to chemical nail polish products. I had to quit my business and look for other ways to earn money so that I could take care of myself and my children.
Yet the hardest ordeal of life was when I first noticed a strange behavior in my eldest daughter. She had no interest in socializing with other kids and preferred to do her chores alone. I became concerned about her behavior and her lack of progress in school. I thought at first that I could do it on my own. But then I visited a doctor and got the answer which shocked me: my daughter was autistic!
I feel so devastated, but I know I can't give up. No matter what, I need to do something! My daughter needs my help and I have to do everything possible to help her.
People with autism in Israel are well provided with state support. But in order to receive it, you have to get a special medical opinion from a psychiatrist. We did not get an appointment through the hospital's coffers until the following year. Don't be surprised! Whoever has experienced such problems will understand me. The only other alternative in this situation is to go to a private doctor, but in my current financial situation, it is too expensive.
We need help! We have no alternatives right now, except for a long wait.
That is why I am appealing to you at the Yad Yitzchok Foundation, hoping for help from people who are willing to support us! Thank you in advance to everybody who will be able to help.
