Why we opened this campaign
💙 Hello! My name is Elena, I am 62 years old.
I am a design engineer by profession. I have worked all my life, never afraid of hard work, but today I find myself in a situation where I cannot cope without help.
🎗 I was diagnosed with stage three cancer.
I underwent a complex surgery and six courses of chemotherapy. After the treatment, I was prescribed the medication Lynparza, which I used to receive for free in Russia, but in Israel its price turned out to be unaffordable.
📅 My aliyah story is not a standard one.
I came to Israel in 2023, but almost immediately had to return — I urgently needed to continue treatment, and in Israel, even confirming the diagnosis would have taken much longer.
In June 2024, the doctors finally allowed me to return, but due to the loss of my resident status, I had to wait half a year until my health insurance was restored.
I brought a small financial “safety cushion” with me, but over those six months, it simply ran out.
Now I am back in the system, undergoing examinations and preparing for surgery on my carotid artery, where the narrowing is almost complete.
In addition, I have been diagnosed with pituitary adenoma, diabetes, arthrosis, neuropathy of the legs, and complications after chemotherapy.
My vision is poor, my fractured leg is not healing, and after a summer infection, I also developed heart problems.
💰 My only income is a Bituach Leumi allowance of 3,221 shekels.
This is barely enough to cover rent and part of the medication costs.
I am trying to keep my strength and faith so that after treatment I can return to normal life and work again.
Any help now is a chance to continue treatment, buy medications, and simply survive.
Thank you to everyone who can offer support.
