Why we opened this campaign
Dear Friends!
The Foundation received an important and serious request from an initiative group of Russian-speaking Jewish repatriates. They live in one of the religious neighborhoods of Jerusalem and, having received official approval, decided to form a self-defense unit. The motivation was their awareness of the current situation in the neighborhood!
In a letter to us, they shared the following information:
"Time to Protect Jews from Bloodthirsty Enemies !!!!
All of us know what difficulties Israel is facing today!
We, an initiative group of Russian-speaking Jewish repatriates, are forming a Russian-speaking Jewish self-defense unit in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem.
We cannot wait "bare-handed" when there are over 40,000 aggressive Arabs living in our neighborhood.
The army is busy with a more global problem in the Gaza sector, and the police force is not enough to stop the first attack quickly.
We cannot allow another tragedy like the one that took place in southern Israel with hundreds of Jewish deaths. We have to be ready to protect ourselves now!
More than 90 Russian-speaking Jews have signed up for Ramot self-defense! We have already chosen a squad commander and a training instructor. Both have served in the Israeli army. The instructor is in the Special Forces.
But for weapons, outfits, equipment, and means of communication, we need your help.
The State of Israel only permits civilians to buy guns, but we have to buy them ourselves. Helping us is 100% mitzvah pikuach nefesh (saving Jewish souls).
Budget for one self-defense participant in the first stage about $ 2000 + cost of training. Budget for the purchase of weapons, outfits and equipment, training and coordination of work is 120 000 $.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
