Happy Rosh Hashanah!
Dear Friends and Partners of the Yad Yitzchok Charitable Foundation,
As we stand on the brink of Rosh Hashanah—days of judgment and mercy before God—we reflect on the past year with pride for the work we have accomplished. This year was not merely another chapter in our activities but a time of active support for those in need across a wide range of areas. This support was made possible by you! Before we move on to celebrations and well wishes, allow us to share with you what we have achieved during this challenging year. In Jewish tradition, reflecting on the year’s accomplishments is an essential aspect of the New Year, and we do so now with pride.
Our Achievements in 5784:
- Supporting Families in Need We have provided assistance to 2,210 families over the past year, offering financial support during their most difficult times. You, our friends and partners, answered our call by responding to our campaigns on the foundation's website and contributing to our shared mission. And the people who received these funds were not just beneficiaries of financial help—they also felt the warmth, care, and compassion of a wider community. We are confident that you will continue to follow our updates and make your donations in the coming year!
- Supporting Israeli Soldiers This year has been especially difficult for our entire country. Therefore, we paid special attention to our soldiers—the heroes who defend our nation from aggression and threats. We have supported over 3,360 soldiers, including both active fighters and the wounded, as well as members of "Kitot Konenut" (rapid response teams). Once again, your partnership, and therefore your support, allowed us to make the lives of these heroes a little better.
- Helping Low-Income Brides and Grooms One of the most significant mitzvot (commandments) in the Jewish community is to help low-income brides. The couples who turned to the Yad Itzhak Charitable Foundation received the help they needed to begin their new lives with joy. We assisted in organizing and hosting 51 weddings for young couples, and these new Jewish families, established in the traditions of our people, have been our greatest reward.
All these young couples, as well as everyone else we help, complete an online course on financial literacy in Russian to ensure they can manage their resources wisely!
- Educational Programs for Repatriates A key goal of the Yad Yitzchok Charitable Foundation is to improve financial literacy among Russian-speaking immigrants in Israel. We entered the year 5784 with an already running Financial Adaptation School called “Learn to Count Anew”—an online project led by renowned Israeli finance expert Igor Lupinsky, who conducted modules on key financial topics relevant to life in Israel. The school continued to grow, reaching new students and providing valuable knowledge in a convenient and accessible way.
In addition, this year we launched the project "Cozy Shekel"—a Telegram channel about finances for Russian-speaking immigrants. Here, repatriates receive expert content to help them navigate the challenges of their new lives in Israel. They also become part of a supportive community, sharing experiences and finding answers to complex questions together. Within 7 months, the channel has grown to nearly 7,000 subscribers and continues to expand.
As part of the "Cozy Shekel" project and the Financial Adaptation School “Learn to Count Anew,” we hosted 8 events, each attended by 60 to 90 people who gained essential knowledge and skills for a successful life in Israel. We also launched pilot consultations via Telegram, where 28 people received free professional advice on financial matters over a 2-month period.
Considering all the above, it is safe to say that Yad Yitzchok has evolved beyond a mere charitable foundation and has become a genuine community of mutual support for Russian-speaking Jews—a source of help for some, a beacon of hope for others, and a recognized leader in this field for everyone!
Having taken on this responsibility, we have set ambitious plans for the coming year, and we would like to share them with you as well.
Our Plans for 5785:
- Increase the number of families supported by 10%, aiming to help over 2,500 families.
- Continue providing support to soldiers and their families.
- Host at least 60 weddings for low-income couples.
- Increase the number of financial literacy events, including new lectures and webinars, to help a thousand immigrants adapt to life in Israel.
- Expand the audience of the "Cozy Shekel" Telegram channel to 15,000 subscribers, regularly publish valuable content, and provide increased support through free consultations, webinars, and events.
We Are Proud of Our New Achievements The Yad Yitzchok Foundation has received official tax-exempt status in Israel and begun collaborating with the municipalities of Jerusalem, Sderot, Ofakim, Tel Aviv, and Rishon LeZion as part of our Financial Adaptation School. This cooperation will allow us to further expand our activities and help even more people in need.
