Shira was once a devoted member of a Moscow congregation. Everyone there knew her as someone with a huge heart, always ready to lend a hand. For many years she herself gave generously to charity — with her money, her time, and her presence.
But after the tragic death of her only son, a naval officer, Shira’s health began to decline sharply. Severe leg pain, increasing difficulty walking, and frequent falls have made everyday life a struggle.
Hoping for relief, Shira moved to Israel in 2019, trusting in the country’s renowned medical system. Sadly, two joint-replacement surgeries brought little improvement. She can move only with the aid of a special device, and every visit to the doctor is an ordeal.
To avoid being confined to her home, Shira had to buy an old but reliable car — on credit. Then came two more loans: one for custom orthopedic shoes and another for urgent dental work. Now she faces mounting debts, an overdrawn account, and another operation scheduled for May that will bring new expenses.
Because of your generosity, we were able to support Shira. We helped pay down pressing debts and covered part of her medical costs. This assistance is more than financial; it is a sign that Shira is not alone.
Thank you for being there. Thank you for your involvement, your response, and your generosity.
