During May, the program’s work was focused on comprehensive support for families and single individuals facing difficult life circumstances. The main focus was on covering basic needs — food, housing, and medical assistance — as well as on systematic work to obtain government benefits and allowances.
A significant part of the cases requires long-term support. Therefore, in addition to the actual assistance provided, the report also reflects potential and long-term benefits connected to securing sustainable sources of government support.
Actual assistance provided
including one year of new benefits: ~176,200 ₪
This includes:
· One-time payments and compensation
· Cost of organized services: legal, social, and medical
· Food assistance
· Subsidies and approved decisions, calculated for the first year
Long-term benefit
beyond the first year: ~8,000 ₪
At this stage, the long-term benefit is based on:
· Arnona discount — 2 cases
Average estimate: ~4,000 ₪ per year × 2
8,000 ₪ per year after the first year
All other cases are either still in process or have a limited validity period.
Potential annual benefit
for applications currently in process: ~54,000 ₪
Based on:
· 3 cases with a high probability of approval
· Average allowance: ~1,500 ₪ per month
1,500 × 12 × 3 = 54,000 ₪
TOTAL:
· Actual assistance: 176,200 ₪
· Long-term benefit: 8,000 ₪
· Potential benefit: 54,000 ₪
