Case Details
1. D., 42 years old, Petah Tikva
D. faced a difficult life situation. When she immigrated 8 years ago, the challenges of emigration severely impacted her psychological state, leading to violence toward her younger son. The school discovered the abuse, and a case was opened with Social Services (Revaha). D. urgently sent her son back to his father in their country of origin.
Two years ago, the child returned to Israel and was placed in a boarding school (pnimiyah) where he is struggling. D. recognized her mistakes and turned to our foundation to help find a more suitable placement. Our social worker contacted the school management, spoke with teachers, and opened a file with Revaha. A committee meeting regarding the child's welfare is scheduled for late January.
- Assistance provided: Social support — 3,000 ₪
- Total: 3,000 ₪
2. Y., Ma'ale Adumim
Due to a complex set of circumstances, Y. became homeless and developed severe health issues, also losing most of his documents. He requested help finding social housing and obtaining disability status. Our social worker suggested applying for "homeless" (dar rehov) status, which grants government payments and housing rights.
Unfortunately, he suffered a relapse and damaged his relationship with his guardian. Until Y. stops consuming alcohol and seeks treatment, we cannot proceed with the "homeless" status application. We will resume the process once his physical condition improves.
- Assistance provided: Social support — 2,500 ₪
- Total: 2,500 ₪
3. B., 66 years old, Ashkelon
B. is one year away from retirement. He immigrated over 30 years ago, returned to his country of origin, and then re-immigrated 10 years ago. Due to these moves, he struggled to gather the necessary documents for his pension. We contacted Bituaht Leumi (National Insurance) to correctly format his periods of absence and provided him with a full checklist of documents to collect over the coming year. We will revisit his case in 12 months.
- Assistance provided: Consultation/Support — 2,500 ₪
- Total: 2,500 ₪
4. F., 50 years old, Tel Aviv
F. is the coordinator for a lone female soldier who suffered cardiac arrest. She sought help in obtaining disability and all social rights the young woman is entitled to. The soldier is currently in a recovery center (merkaz shirut). Once this stage is complete, we will begin the process of securing her benefits and subsidies.
- Assistance provided: Social support — 3,000 ₪
- Total: 3,000 ₪
5. I., 18 years old, Jerusalem
I. is the eldest son in a large family. Due to a difficult home environment, he had to leave his parents' house and sought help finding work and housing. Our social worker suggested opening a file with Revaha to seek temporary government housing while he looks for permanent work. I. has declined for now, but we continue to offer various solutions.
- Assistance provided: Support — 2,000 ₪
- Total: 2,000 ₪
6. Y., 54 years old, Tel Aviv
Y. had a poor bank credit history through no fault of his own, following a fraudulent scheme where he was found completely innocent. Despite this, the bank refused to issue him any credit cards. Last month, Y. found his account frozen and could not access his salary. Our social worker wrote to the bank and secured a state attorney for Y. We are currently awaiting the bank's response.
- Assistance provided: Legal/Social support — 3,500 ₪
- Total: 3,500 ₪
7. R., 46 years old, Rishon LeZion
R. requested help applying for disability due to severe back pain that prevents her from working. Our social worker compiled the necessary documentation and opened a file with Revaha so her 11-year-old daughter could receive discounts on school and extracurricular activities. Additionally, the social worker organized a weekly food basket for the family.
- Assistance provided:
- Documentation/Support — 3,000 ₪
- Food assistance (12 months) — 12,000 ₪
- Total: 15,000 ₪
8. E., 44 years old, Jerusalem
Five years ago, E. arrived in Israel with her husband and daughter, deciding to make Aliyah after arrival. During the process, E. gave birth. However, she was still on a tourist visa while the father had already received citizenship. Five years later, the Eilat hospital billed her 25,000 NIS for the birth—an impossible sum for her.
Our social worker helped convene a committee and successfully advocated for the debt to be waived on humanitarian grounds, citing her rapid citizenship post-birth and the fact that her eldest daughter was diagnosed with cancer. The committee also acknowledged the father's citizenship at the time of birth. The debt was fully cancelled.
- Assistance provided:
- Cancelled debt — 25,000 ₪
- Social-legal support — 4,000 ₪
- Total: 29,000 ₪
9. T., 72 years old, Ashkelon
T. sought help obtaining an old-age pension. Having arrived in Israel after the age of 62, she had not paid into the pension fund. Bituaht Leumi denied her benefits until she completed 10 years of residency. Our social worker gathered all documents, filed an appeal, and brought in a state attorney.
On Dec 28, T. was notified that her application was approved. She will begin receiving her pension in January.
- Actual Assistance (Year 1):
- Old-age pension: $2,500 \times 12 = 30,000$ ₪

- Long-term Confirmed Benefit (additional 4 years):
- $2,500 \times 12 \times 4 = 120,000$ ₪
- Long-term Confirmed Benefit Total: 120,000 ₪
10. E., 41 years old, Jerusalem
E., a single mother, requested help obtaining an arnona (property tax) discount. Our social worker submitted the application, which was initially rejected. We helped gather additional documents and requested a review. The committee meeting is set for Jan 05.
- Assistance provided: Documentation/Support — 2,500 ₪
- Total: 2,500 ₪
11. S., 34 years old, Beit Shemesh
S.'s husband was sentenced to a long prison term, leaving her with four children (including from his previous marriage) and over 500,000 NIS in debt. S. is currently six months pregnant.
Our social worker successfully secured a state attorney for her despite an active business (esek) in her name. We located the accountant who handled the business to prepare profitability reports. As a result, S. was granted temporary guardianship (apotropus) for her husband's children. We also helped her secure special education for one of the girls, unblock her bank card, and are currently assisting with bankruptcy proceedings.
- Assistance provided: Comprehensive legal/social support — 12,000 ₪
- Total: 12,000 ₪
12. A., 47 years old, Jerusalem
We have been working with A. for a long time. Last month, our social worker secured 100% disability status for him. In December, we helped him obtain an 80% arnona discount in Jerusalem and gathered documents for a disabled parking permit (tag na'he).
- Assistance provided:
- Disability benefit (Year 1): $4,000 \times 12 = 48,000$ ₪
- Support — 4,000 ₪
- Total: 52,000 ₪
13. T., 55 years old, Bat Yam
T.'s daughter and son-in-law were stripped of parental rights for two young children. T. fought to have her grandchildren live with her. Our social worker guided T. through a complex and lengthy bureaucratic journey. Ultimately, she became the full legal guardian, and Bituaht Leumi will pay 5,000 NIS per month per child. This is a major victory for T. and our team.
- Assistance provided:
- Benefit: $5,000 \times 2 \text{ children} \times 12 \text{ months} = 120,000$ ₪
- Support (long-term bureaucratic process) — 4,000 ₪
- Total (Actual Assistance): 124,000 ₪
