Сегодня вечером начинается важный день для еврейского народа - день дарования Торы!
Не смотря на то, что событие произошло более трех тысяч лет назад, на каждом из нас лежит обязанность каждый год принимать Тору заново. Конечно, речь идет о духовных аспектах, открыть свое сердце, принять святую Тору и исполнять её заповеди - еще с большим стремлением, с еще большим рвением, с еще большим желанием.
Как ни странно, Шавуот - единственный праздник, у которого нет своих особых законов, как например трубленное в шофар в Рош-аШана или вкушение мацы и горькой зелени в Песах. В Шавуот много обычаев, но ни одного закона, касающегося непосредственно только его.
Все дело в том, что Тора - это источник жизни, её основа. Представьте себе, что Всевышний создал этот мир только ради Торы, ради того, чтобы еврейский народ принял её. Вместе с тем, как человеку необходимы воздух, вода и пища, он нуждается и в Торе.
Аналогично тому, что мы ответили на горе Синай более трех тысяч лет назад «наасе ве нишма» - «сделаем и услышим» (ведь душа каждого из нас находилась там), и аналогично тому, что мы подтверждаем в своем сердце эти слова из года в год, мы принимаем и выполняем самый важный закон в нашей жизни - Тору. Именно поэтому Шавуот просто не нуждается в дополнительных законах.

Tonight begins an important day for the Jewish people - the holiday of the giving of the Torah!
Despite the fact that the event took place more than three thousand years ago, each of us is responsible to accept the Torah anew every year. Certainly, we’re talking about spiritual aspects of Torah acquisition: opening one’s heart in acceptance of the holy Torah, as well as willingness to fulfill its commandments with even greater aspiration, zeal and desire.
Strange as it may seem, Shavuot is the only holiday which doesn’t have its special laws, like blowing of the shofar on Rosh HaShanah or eating matzo and bitter greens on Pesach. There are many Shavuot customs, yet not a single law relating directly to this holiday alone.
The reason for this is that the Torah is the foundation of life. Imagine, Almighty created this world only for the sake of the Torah, so that the Jewish people would accept it. In the same way that a person needs air, water and food, the person needs the Torah.
Just as we answered “naaseh v’nishma” (we will do and we will hear) on the Mount Sinai more than three thousand years ago, ( since all our souls were at the mountain at the time) year after year we confirm these words in the depth of our hearts. By reconfirming this acceptance, we fulfill the most important directive in our lives - the Torah. For this very reason, Shavuot simply does not need additional laws.
