TRAINING. THE MAIN QUESTION TO YOURSELF.

Do not panic - help!

What Happened?

Yad Yitzchok fund is looking for partners to support our unique project “Motherhood”. The budget for this venture is only NIS 10,000 per month.

Project “Motherhood” arranges meals for families who just welcomed their brand new additions. During the first two weeks after the birth, our organization delivers freshly cooked meals for these families, in order to relieve the new mom of the kitchen duty and allow her to get back to herself. Our projected goal is to support, in such way, over 15 families monthly.

How we help?

At Yad Yitzchok, we  purchase ingredients (at wholesale prices), cook lunches and suppers, as well as Shabbat meals, and deliver the food. Simple and effective!

What’s the importance of this project?

It is common knowledge that mother – child bond is established in the first month after childbirth. It is also the time when nursing schedule is established. A stressful situation could potentially adversely affect both the child and the new mom. That’s when Yad Yitzchok steps in and allows the new mother to concentrate on the most important task at hand, her new baby.

Who we help?

On the front of raising money for our special projects, our main ones get put on the back burner and don't get much of a look. The special projects, they are the ones that touch people's hearts and get donations. Yet, few know of the "Mother and Newborn" project, these mothers rely on ready-made food to be brought to them in those first few weeks of recovery.

Sometimes we are forced to borrow produce from the distributors. Yes, we know that we are not able to fix everything, but how can we just pass by these new mothers?

Here are a few examples of people who have turned to us for help, recently:

  1. A young family moved to Israel only a few months ago with a one and a half year old baby and another on the way. The mother-in-law came in for the birth so she could help out. But when the young mother went into labor at the hospital, the older woman got a serious break in her arm (in a few places). Here it wasn't just the new mother who needed caring, but the mother-in-law as well. And we can not forget about the first child. This family is all alone in the country, with no one to help them.
  2. An unfortunate story of two children who ended up in a hospital at the same time, one child was sick and he needed an urgent surgery, during which they touched a sensitive nerve that left the child paralyzed (thank G-d, currently, she is back to herself). Unfortunately, bad news doesn't come alone, and their youngest daughter had an epileptic seizure. While at home the other children are waiting. Who will care for them? Who will cook for them?
  3. A man, during work fell out a window, so besides his other injuries, he also broke his two hands, obviously, he is not a new mother, but how can we not help?
  4. And a woman undergoing chemotherapy, most certainly needs some help!

Although this project works by default for 2 weeks, but when we hear such stories and know how much these people count on it, how can we stop bringing them food? And of course the new mothers, who this project was initially created for, who's internal system is not yet recovered, whether is was a difficult birth, a cesarean, or now a psychological issue, we know that these people depend on us, and we won't stop helping only because the resources of the project are 'limited'. For we know that anyone in our place would do the same, and with G-d's help, we will be supported!
